Interior design in 2023

Looking for the latest interior design trends for 2023?

It’s been a long three years since the start of the pandemic. If you’re anything like us you’ve spent a lot of time living and working at home. Thankfully we’re slowly come out of the fog of covid, and with that comes renewed energy to freshen up our home life.

So, what are the latest interior design trends you should consider for your home?

As a global interior design studio, we pride ourselves in anticipating the upcoming trends in interior design. Our team of interior designers live and breathe it every day. So, we asked them to share their insights into the latest interior design trends from around the world.

Biophilic design is a trend that focuses on bringing the outdoors inside. We are seeing the rise of biophilic design and spaces that satisfy our need and connection to nature, maximising light and airflow, incorporating planting and using organic materials, natural colours and geometries to create an underlying sense of calm and wellbeing.

Natural elements and materials such as wood, stone, and rattan are becoming increasingly popular in-home decor. Natural elements provide a cozy, organic feel to any room, while also blending in well with the existing decor.

Sustainable and eco-friendly design should be top of mind of anybody about to renovate. Homeowners are looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact. Sustainable materials such as bamboo, cork, and recycled materials are becoming more popular, as are energy-efficient LED lighting, low-VOC paints, and water-saving fixtures.

Bold colours are back! We’re seeing bold colours back in vogue in interior design. More homeowners are looking to make a statement in their home with colour; shades of blues and greens, and pinks and orange.

Smart home technology continues to evolve, and it’s becoming increasingly popular in interior design. Smart home devices, such as automated lights and thermostats, can be integrated into the home’s design to make it easier to control the atmosphere.

Brutalism, or "maximalism," is a style of architecture that emphasizes the use of raw, often unrefined materials, such as concrete, steel, and brick. It is characterized by bold, often imposing geometric forms and a lack of ornamentation. It's a style that is becoming increasingly popular, particularly among those looking to make a statement with their home design. The bold shapes and materials used in Brutalism help to create a sense of strength, power, and permanence, making it the perfect choice for those who want to create a lasting impression.
